McGill’s 21st Annual Spring Bass Fishing Tournament

On Friday, April 19th, 30 anglers on 15 boats headed out on Lake Rhodhiss for McGill’s 21st annual Spring Bass Tournament. It was a beautiful day for some friendly competition among friends and colleagues.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNING TEAMS

First Place Winners
Chuck Melton and Chris Mostiller, First Place Winners

Chuck Melton with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and Chris Mostiller with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety won first place. The team caught 5 fish weighing a total of 15 lbs. In addition to winning first place, they also took home a check for catching the biggest bass, weighing in at 4.4 lbs. Congratulations to Chuck and Chris for showcasing your remarkable angling skills!

Second place winners, Rick Bardford and Scott Loftis with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, also brought in 5 fish weighing in at 12.2 lbs.

Representing Williamsburg, Virginia, McGill Principal / Vice President / Regional Office Manager, Danny Bridges, and his son Christian Bridges secured third place with 5 fish and a total weight of 8.6 lbs.

Corey Patton and Jimmy Etheridge, representing North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, caught the biggest non-bass, which weighed 3.4 pounds!

We want to say a special thank you to all of our sponsors for your support and providing our anglers with lunch from Jason’s Deli and dinner from JD’s Smokehouse. Raffle sponsors included the Hickory Crawdads, EGI, Walmart, Highland Property Pros, National Power, Jason’s Deli, Eaton, Quality Electric, SESCO Lighting, Mountain Crest Landscaping & AG Supply, Trane, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Chick-fil-A, Salsarita’s, and Watson Sales.

There were raffle prizes, such as Igloo and Grizzly coolers, Yeti GoBox, Milwaukee Pakout box, fishing tackle box, a gift basket, minor league baseball game tickets, landscaping gift card, local gift cards, and tickets to visit Grandfather Mountain. In addition, all anglers received a McGill cooler containing a pair of sunglasses, floating sunglass straps, and a sunglasses case.

MCGILL LOOKS FORWARD TO CONTINUING THE TRADITION of the Annual Spring Bass Fishing Tournament

This tournament provided an excellent opportunity for McGill staff and our friends to get together and enjoy the water and lovely spring weather. McGill values building strong relationships with our colleagues and peers, and we look forward to continuing this tradition for many years to come.
