McGill Virtual Christmas Party
Traditions Continue
2020 has brought many challenges for everyone. As we navigate this new territory, we search for ways to stay close to each other in a social-distanced world. This year at McGill, we found a solution to bring everyone together and celebrate the holidays in a safe and fun way – a virtual Christmas party! In previous years, the whole McGill team has met for the annual Christmas party in Asheville, but this year, although we did not meet in person, we maintained our traditions, family environment, and holiday spirit.
Keeping up with tradition, we were able to get to know one another better throughout our offices with our new hire trivia game. Although we are separated, we familiarized ourselves with new people in an interesting way.
Going from the newest employees to the most tenured, we also highlighted and honored employees with 10, 20, and 30 years at McGill. These employees were presented with an award and company-wide recognition for their years of service. We applaud these employees for their commitment and achievement!

Through a year of change, we were also able to celebrate new additions to the family. 2020 saw the birth of 4 new McGill babies. These new lives give us all a little joy and reason to see the silver lining of the year.
Another annual tradition to celebrate the holidays is our Christmas photo contest. Last year, the Hickory office stole the show through its Hee Haw themed group photo. We upped the ante this year by providing strict guidelines to keep safety measures in place and by incorporating a food drive for local charities. Food donations were made to the following charities:
- Western Carolina Rescue Mission
- Hunger and Health Coalition
- Eastern Catawba Cooperative Christian Ministry
- Hickory Soup Kitchen
- Vass Food Pantry
- Inter-Faith Food Shuttle
- Matthew’s Ministry
Although everyone is a winner by helping those in need, Asheville took home the bragging rights for 2021 with their creative photo.
As we wrap up a year of changes and a new normal, McGill continues to keep a focus on building relationships with clients, communities, and each other. We hope to see 2021 as a year of growth, positivity, and health.
