McGill Celebrates the Holidays with a Virtual Employee Christmas Party
While McGill typically celebrates our annual Christmas party at a venue in Asheville, North Carolina — COVID-19 protocols have resulted in a new spin on this fun company tradition. For the second year in a row, McGill has put on a successful virtual Christmas party. The online event serves as a time dedicated to celebrating our company culture, personal and professional accomplishments, and overall prosperity of the past year. Collaboration is the key to our success, and we value any opportunity to get together — whether it’s in person, socially distanced, or remote.
VIRTUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY ACTIVITIES
During the virtual event, employees participated in a new hire trivia game, pictures of five new McGill babies were shared from 2021, and after much anticipation — it was time to reveal the winner of the office Christmas photo contest.
Every year, employees at each office location take a Christmas-themed photo in the hopes of winning not only bragging rights but also a holiday-themed gnome statue. The offices also included a local charity to support and feature in their photo. The charities chosen were:
· The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina
· The Salvation Army Angel Tree
· Brunswick Baptist Association Toy Store
McGill is always looking for ways to give back to our communities, and while all the photos were creative and supported a good cause, the Asheville office was this year’s big winner.
MCGILL HAS A LOT TO CELEBRATE THIS YEAR
In 2021, McGill focused on providing excellent client service to our existing clients, hiring professional staff to accomplish our work in communities, and supporting our employees in gaining their professional licenses. McGill President Andy Lovingood said, “I think we are stronger than we have ever been in the history of the company.”
INDIVIDUAL EMPLOYEE ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Building strong relationships with our clients as well as within our company is a crucial component of our overall success. Each year, McGill honors its most tenured employees with an award in recognition of their years of service.
The following tenure awards were given out this year:
10 years: Gary Wood and Buddy Edmisten
20 years: Michael Norris and Christine Brown
Tenured employees are a valuable asset to any company — with their developed skills and extensive knowledge of functions, procedures, and policies — we are honored to still have the best and brightest here with us at McGill after all these years.
LOOKING FORWARD TO 2022
While this time of year encourages reflection, McGill is always looking to the future and strategizing how we can continue to best serve our clients and communities.
Looking forward to 2022, Andy Lovingood shared the theme is going to be getting better at what we do best.
