Celebrating Milestones: 40 Years of McGill and 25 Years in Hickory
This year, McGill reached two important milestones: 40 years of providing engineering and consulting services and 25 years since the establishment of our Hickory office. To mark these occasions, last week we gathered with our valued clients and community partners for an afternoon celebration at the historic Moretz Mills event center in Hickory.
Recognizing 25 Years in Hickory
Hickory’s mayor joined us to commemorate the occasion, speaking about McGill’s deep connections to the community. Since opening our doors in 1999, the Hickory office has become the second largest in our organization, growing from six employees to 59. Many of our team members have roots in the Unifour area, with several joining McGill to live and work in this vibrant community.
The mayor also highlighted our role in projects like the Hickory Riverwalk, Newton’s downtown streetscape, and numerous infrastructure improvements that have supported growth across Catawba County and beyond.
Client Relationships at the Core
McGill’s leadership shared their reflections on these milestones and the importance of client relationships. Doug Chapman, Hickory Office Manager, spoke about the office’s growth and its impact on the local community, emphasizing how strong partnerships with clients have driven that success.
President Andy Lovingood reflected on McGill’s broader history, expressing appreciation for the trust and collaboration of the clients and communities we’ve served over the past four decades. Both underscored how these relationships are the foundation of everything McGill accomplishes.
An Afternoon of Reflection and Connection
The celebration included a delicious barbeque lunch, drinks, and desserts, accompanied by a slideshow showcasing McGill’s history and achievements. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with our clients, share stories, and look ahead to the future. The atmosphere was warm and engaging, highlighting the strong relationships we’ve built over the decades.
