Cramerton Celebrates Goat Island Park

Approximately 1,000 spectators came out to celebrate the re-dedication of Goat Island on May 1, 2015. Mayor Ronnie Worley hosted the event at the end of the new bridge. He thanked the many people and funding agencies involved in the project. Once the ribbon was cut, the crowd flooded the bridge to cross over to the festivities inside the park. There were tents set up offering face painting, Goat Island paraphernalia (including small stuffed animal goats), and food. Children covered the Beanstalk Adventure Playground and played ping pong and cornhole. Families of all ages strolled along the greenway with their dogs.

For this project, McGill Associates provided the landscape architecture, civil engineering design, and construction administration services for two phases of the park, including the Beanstalk Adventure Playground, fitness center, dog park, disc golf course, two bridges, and trails.

Be sure to check out the Town of Cramerton’s Facebook page for more great photos from the event. McGill Associates is proud to have been a part of this project.
