McGill Attends 2023 NCCCMA Winter Seminar
From February 1 – 3, 2023, McGill attended the North Carolina City and County Management Association (NCCCMA) Winter Seminar at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem as a gold level sponsor.
To stay abreast of the latest policy developments, governmental challenges, and industry trends that have an impact on the clients and communities we serve across North Carolina, McGill makes it a priority to exhibit and network with local government leaders at this conference annually.
McGill Client Services Manager Gary Jackson said, “As a lifetime member of NCCCMA, I am proud of how McGill contributes so much to the professional development of local government managers.”
ABOUT NCCCMA
The NCCCMA is the professional organization for city, county, and assistant managers who represent the state’s counties and municipalities. Their core values of promoting lifelong professional development, supporting diversity and inclusiveness, and valuing each community’s distinctive culture are aligned with McGill’s founding principles.
MCGILL UNDERSTANDS THE VALUE OF ATTENDING SEMINARS
We are committed to professional development at McGill and take advantage of every opportunity to increase our knowledge, acquire new perspectives, learn from our peers and neighbors, and contribute our own knowledge.
Conferences and seminars allow us to strengthen existing relationships and forge new ones, both of which are essential to the continued success of our firm.
MCGILL SPONSORED TWO NCCCMA RECEPTIONS AND OFFERED PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOTS
“The 2023 NCCCMA Winter Seminar proved to be an extraordinary opportunity for McGill to demonstrate its commitment to serving our local government clients,” noted Gary. “In addition to sponsoring two well attended receptions, McGill offered city and county managers and their assistants an opportunity to have personal headshots taken by a professional photographer. Over 100 attendees took advantage of this inaugural photo opportunity.”
NCCCMA ADDS ANOTHER MCGILL EMPLOYEE TO THE LIST OF LIFETIME MEMBERS
McGill’s newly hired Client Relationship Manager James Inman was honored with a lifetime membership to the NCCCMA at this year’s seminar. James has worked in local government for over three decades, and his record of success in areas spanning asset management, economic and community development, and project funding is outstanding.
We are ecstatic to have another member of the McGill team receive this lifetime membership, and we recognize that we are really fortunate to have such skilled individuals who have prior experience working in local government on staff.
NCCCMA SEMINAR AGENDA
Sessions and workshops at this year’s winter seminar covered a wide range of important topics, such as attracting and retaining top talent, measuring and mastering inclusive leadership, how to keep housing affordable in rapidly expanding communities, cutting-edge communication tools, navigating the complexities of cyber security, increasing community engagement, trends in fire services and law enforcement, and hiring the next generation of government leaders.
NCCCMA TAKEAWAYS
After attending the 2023 NCCCMA Winter Seminar, we have returned to work with actionable takeaways, updated knowledge of the industry, and a renewed commitment to providing our clients with unmatched service.
