McGill Attends 17th Annual SESWA Regional Stormwater Conference as a Sponsor

McGill was a sponsor at the 17th Annual Southeast Stormwater Association (SESWA) Regional Stormwater Conference in Hilton Head, South Carolina, from October 5th through 7th.

The conference — hosted by SESWA — is the only regional conference that is exclusively devoted to the topic of stormwater education and the issues that are faced by stormwater professionals in both the public and private sectors.

SESWA CONFERENCE AGENDA AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES

The conference consisted of a myriad of informative sessions and presentations on subjects such as post-construction built-upon area (BUA) management, naturalization efforts, prioritizing interconnected regional projects, keys to successful stormwater master planning in historic cities, developing nutrient management strategies, implementing new stormwater design standards, restoring history through green stormwater infrastructure, how ArcGIS Online (AGOL) applications can assist communities more efficiently, and restoring predevelopment hydrology with smart stormwater controls.

Mizfh3UV 20221006 085201At the conclusion of the conference, the National Association of Clean Water Agencies provided an update on water-related issues and US Environmental Protection Agency’s stormwater program priorities at the national level, focusing on stormwater policy and permitting programs.

McGill made the most of the opportunity to network with stormwater managers and regulators at the municipal, state, and federal levels, as well as with developers and land use planners, civil and environmental engineers, landscape architects, environmentalists, and interested citizens.
