McGill Enjoys Networking with Clients at the NC One Water Conference
This week, McGill attended the NC One Water Conference in Charlotte as a sponsor. This is the largest conference of the year that is put on by the North Carolina Section of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) and NC Member Association (MA) of the Water Environment Federation (NC WEA) — and there were over 1,500 water professionals from across the state in attendance.
ABOUT NC ONE WATER
Through water education, training, leadership, and the ability to connect with other water professionals, NC One Water hopes to achieve its mission of consistently promoting safe drinking water as well as the proper treatment and disposal of wastewater.
THIS YEARS NC ONE WATER CONFERENCE THEME
The subject of this year’s NC One Water Conference was “Driving Forward.” This theme was a tribute to the NASCAR Strictly Stock race that was held in Charlotte in 1949. It was also a tribute to the passion that AWWA / NC WEA members have shown for the water industry by remaining vigilant in their ability to be nimble and pivot in an ever-changing field.
NC ONE WATER CONFERENCE AGENDA
The conference was kicked off with a reception on the evening of December 4th, and then on December 5th and 6th, exhibitors filled the Charlotte convention center with interactive booths. At these booths, attendees were able to interact with each other and learn what our peers in the water industry are up to.
During exhibiting hours, there were also auctions, committee meetings, educational sessions, facility tours, networking events, and even a best tasting water competition taking place as well.
MCGILL HOSTS SEVERAL NETWORKING EVENTS WITH OUR CLIENTS
McGill looks forward to meeting with potential and current clients each year at the NC One Water Conference. We believe that the success of our firm hinges on our ability to form and maintain strong relationships with our clientele — and what better way to accomplish that than through lively events and engaging gatherings. This included gathering around delicious dinner, cheering for Monday Night Football, and using the ‘Driving Forward’ conference theme to create some friendly competition on the go kart track.
McGill Utilities Operation Specialist Buddy Edmisten said, “It’s great that McGill is able to be at these type of conferences with our clients. It means a lot to us to be able to strengthen our professional relationship with them all while having fun and enjoying each other’s company.”
