McGill Wishes Director of Human Resources a Happy Retirement
ANGIE ALLEY RETIRES FROM MCGILL
After eight years of dedicated service, McGill’s Director of Human Resources and shareholder, Angie Alley, has announced her decision to retire. Angie has been an integral part of the McGill team, contributing her hard work, leadership, and passion for employee well-being. With her retirement, Angie looks forward to embarking on new adventures and spending more quality time with her family and friends.
ANGIE’S HISTORY WITH MCGILL
Angie’s journey at McGill began in 2016 when she joined the company as an accounting assistant. Her exceptional work ethic and commitment to excellence led to her transfer to the human resources department in 2017, where she served as a human resources generalist. In June of 2018, Angie was promoted to the position of director of human resources, a role in which she excelled and made a lasting impact.
Throughout her tenure at McGill, Angie worked on various projects and initiatives that helped the company grow and thrive. One of her key priorities has always been taking care of employees by ensuring a healthy work-life balance and providing valuable benefits. Angie’s leadership and dedication to creating a positive work environment have been instrumental in McGill’s success.
In addition to her responsibilities as director of human resources, Angie actively participated in numerous committees and roles within the company. She served on multiple committees (fiduciary, insurance, advisory team for young professionals, safety, Asheville charity, and Asheville social club), where she made significant contributions and helped drive positive change. Angie also played a key role in planning multiple annual Christmas parties and organizing various fun events that brought colleagues together.
McGill President Andy Lovingood stated, “Angie served as only our third HR Director in our 40-year history and has been a driving force in our overall employee experience at McGill. Angie has excelled on all fronts for the firm from compliance with federal and state laws — such as COBRA, HIPPA, ERISA, EEOC, and FMLA — to navigating COVID, helping employees with benefits, our retirement and insurance plans, talent acquisition, leading committees and teams, performance reviews and job classifications, and constructing and administering company policies. She is a tireless worker and has shown great care for our company and our employees.”
A NEW CHAPTER FOR ANGIE
As Angie prepares to embark on this new chapter in her life, McGill hosted a retirement reception to honor her contributions and celebrate her accomplishments. The event was a fitting tribute to a leader who has made a lasting impact on the company and its employees.
A message to Angie from McGill’s human resources staff: “Angie luminates ‘the heart of McGill’ and brings out the best in everyone around her. All of us here at McGill want to thank you for your dedication over these years and congratulate you on your successful and fulfilling career! You have made such a difference — things won’t be the same without you!”
As we bid farewell to a cherished member of our team, we gratefully acknowledge Angie’s contributions and wish her nothing but happiness and fulfillment in her retirement!
