Ocean Isle Beach Town Center Park Opens
Parks Continue Growth in a Time of Need
McGill partnered with the Town of Ocean Isle Beach to design and develop Town Center Park, which was completed in June of this year. The unique 1.7-acre park served as part of a 2017 master plan for the Town. Town Center Park has recently officially opened to the public.
Town Center Park Features
The new park will serve the community as a recreational centerpiece and destination for individuals and families alike. The colorful park features numerous interactive amenities, including a stage venue for concerts, festivals, and movies in the park; splash pad; arbor shade structures with benches and bench swings; restrooms and playground area; walking path; bocce court; and parking areas that accommodate pedestrian vehicles, golf carts, and bicycles. The playground section is opening September 4 at 5 pm.
Working with the Town of Ocean Isle Beach
Not only did McGill design the park with local inspiration and landscaping, but we also assisted in the preparation of the North Carolina Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF) grant application, which resulted in a $500,000 award. This impactful award allowed the Town to more fully implement the desirable public features. From master planning and grant administration through design development and construction, McGill helped the Town create this special place for the community.
Our Desire to Shape Communities Together
“We are honored to have worked with our friends at the Town of Ocean Isle Beach to complete this wonderful addition to the community. The Town Center Park offers many features to enhance the recreational quality of life for residents and visitors,” explained Michael Norton, PE, Principal and Shallotte Office Manager at McGill.
We value our long-term partnership with the Town of Ocean Isle Beach and enjoy providing the surrounding communities with professional civil engineering and landscape architecture services.
