City of Saluda Receives Funds for Water and Sewer Initiative
McGill Aids Saluda with Water and Sewer Funding
McGill assisted the City of Saluda with securing a low-interest loan in the amount of $1,910,660 from the United States Department of Agricultural, Rural Development (USDA-RD) to benefit the City’s water and sewer project.
The McGill team provided preliminary engineering support to the City of Saluda to evaluate its water and sewer collection and distribution system, identify needed improvements, and prepare a preliminary engineering report (PER) to support the City on its quest to secure funding for the project.
The project will include repairing a water booster pump station, repainting, and refurbishing the City’s water storage tank, as well as repairing a sewer pump station, approximately 4,000 linear feet of new water lines to replace older, defective lines, and approximately 5,200 linear feet of new gravity sewer line to replace defective lines. It is anticipated that the improvements will be made over a two-year period.
