Spend Your Summer with McGill – Tennessee Style

Are you ready for an unforgettable summer filled with the excitement and the warmth of Tennessee hospitality? McGill’s Tennessee office is in Knoxville, and our team is ready to meet your community’s needs.

Following our North Carolina article on summer events, we are choosing to highlight exciting events happening in Eastern Tennessee.  Beyond the Vols celebrating their National Baseball Championship, there is a lot to participate in throughout the summer.

Below are some highlights from events you can be part of:

City of Bristol 

Bristol, tn
Downtown Bristol

Head to the Downtown Center on Tuesday and Thursday nights this summer for the Sounds of Summer Concert Series. The concerts will run from 7-9 pm and snacks will be available at the concessions stand. Click here for the lineup and additional details.

City of Elizabethton 

Join the City of Elizabethton’s Parks and Recreation Department for its Independence Day Celebration. On July 4, head to Covered Bridge Park at 4 pm for all kinds of fun competitions and activities, food trucks and inflatables. At 7:30 pm, a live band will be performing, and the evening will close out with fireworks. For all the details of the event, click here.

Enjoy live music on Saturday nights throughout the summer at Elizabethton’s Covered Bridge Jams Summer Concert Series. Shows will be held from 7-9 pm in Covered Bridge Park. To view the lineup and get additional information, view Elizabethton’s webpage.

City of Jefferson City

On July 4, celebrate by heading to Mossy Creek Station Park for the Independence Day Parade. Fun activities will be at 10 am and the parade will begin at 11 am. To learn more, check out the Facebook page.

City of Johnson City

On July 4, go to the Freedom Hall Civic Center for the 37th Annual Pepsi Independence Day Fireworks Celebration. Live music begins at 6 pm. The event will also have food trucks, contests, and a fireworks show at 10 pm. Read this article for more information.

Visit Johnson City for a summer full of entertainment. Make your way to Downtown Johnson City for the Fridays After 5 Concert Series in King Commons. The shows start at 6:30 pm and run throughout June and July. To view the lineup and sponsors, click here.

Happy Birthday Harry! Join the Johnson City Parks and Recreation Department for a Harry Potter Movie on the Lake. The movie will be shown on July 31 at 8:30 pm at Winged Deer Park Lakefront. For additional details, visit here.

Kingsport, tn
Kingsport Welcome Center

City of Kingsport

Join the Downtown Kingsport Association for its Red, White, and BOOM Independence Day event. On July 6 at 5 pm, enjoy amazing live musicians followed by a spectacular fireworks show. For all the information, click here.

Head to the 100 block of Broad Street on Friday nights in Downtown Kingsport for the Twilight Alive Summer Concert Series. The concerts will begin at 7 pm. Be sure to visit local restaurants and businesses around the site. For more information, visit their Facebook page.

Until October, enjoy food trucks on the last Friday of each month at Kingsport’s Final Friday Food Truck Rally. From 5-8 pm in the parking lot on Cherokee Street, there will be a variety of food trucks. For more details and to see the list of vendors, click here.

City of Madisonville

Celebrate with the Town of Madisonville at its Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks. On July 4 at 3 pm, head to Downtown Madisonville for festival activities and fireworks at dark. Visit the Facebook page for more information.

On the first Monday of each month, through October, head to Memorial Park for Mondays in Madisonville. There will be live music, food trucks, and fun from 5-8 pm. To learn more, check out the Facebook page.
