Electrical Engineering
McGill’s advanced electrical engineering program is responsive to most utility needs. We pride ourselves on being up to date on state and national codes, while working closely with our clients and communities to meet their utility needs. Our experts excel at designing innovative, sustainable approaches to all power needs of the project. Offering a full range of electrical engineering services, McGill focuses on responsible energy usage and delivering plans that provide cost‐effective strategies for long‐term use.
Utility Power Systems
McGill’s electrical engineering team members have extensive experience designing electrical power distribution systems for institutional, commercial, industrial, and power utility facilities for both government and private entities. These power systems encompass the full range of electrical power from small, low-voltage (600 V class) through bulk power transmission facilities up to 500 kV. Our experience includes both underground and overhead medium-voltage (2.4–34.5 kV) systems, including distribution, transmission, and substation facilities. We understand the special issues of replacing power systems, while minimizing the impact to the served buildings and facilities.
Power & Controls
We have broad experience with medium- and low-voltage industrial power, industrial single- and multi-process PLC-based control systems, and large control system integration, utilizing state-of-the-art SCADA system technologies. Our electrical services involve transmission and distribution substations, overhead and underground transmission, distribution lines, standby power generation, emergency power, SCADA, and fiber optic cabling. The team has extensive knowledge and specialized training for electrical engineering design and construction management of water and wastewater treatment plants, and pump station electrical systems and controls.
Lighting Systems
Ask any designer: lighting is everything. McGill will work with you to optimize efficiency and functionality of your lighting project. Our experienced electrical engineers look at every lighting project, individually, and work to create a solution that satisfies our client’s vision, while improving operations, maximizing energy efficiency, and delivering results that everyone can appreciate.
Management Services
Our electrical engineering team is not only committed to the communities we serve, but equally to the knowledge of National Electric Code, National Electric Safety Code, state building codes, and National Fire Prevention Association standards. McGill has extensive experience in all aspects of electrical management.
